Super Masters Team Looking for Runners
« on: February 09, 2017, 01:13:03 pm »
We are the Hagg Lake Harriers.  We've placed in the top 6 of our age group for 4 years now, and we plan on doing it again.  We're looking for runners who are 50+ and can do 8:30 miles or better.

Hi,

My name is Randy Weston and am 59.  I just ran the Run for the Roses 1/2 marathon at a 9:00 pace, but have been working to get to a 8:30 pace.  Back into running after a considerable hiatus.  I also live in Carlton, Or, just down the road from Hagg Lake.  Could definitely do training runs.  email: randyw1010@yahoo.com, phone 503-779-5439 call or text.  Thanks

If you find yourself in need of a runner. I am 50 year old male and can run 7:15-7:30 pace. I have done a number of team races and would like to be on a competitive team.

 Hi,

My name is Dennis Kiser, and I live in Ohio.   I'm 58 years old.  I will run at least 8:30 or faster for you.  I've run many HTCs when we used to live in Oregon.  I ran leg 7 last year for a team from Portland.  I am familiar with all of legs.  Doesn't matter where you assign me.  Hardest or easiest.  I'm easy going but will work very hard for your team.  Timekeeping, driving, waterboy,,,,, whatever.   I love the HTC and would like to get back again this year.

Thanks

I'm Art, 55
This will be my 12th HTC. Mostly I've done base legs of 6 or 5. As I'm a distance runner, I often fill in for dropped legs as well as my 3. This means I can run my 3 plus 3 of any others, either van. My max is 6. Gets a little crazy sometimes...but failure is not an option, so we make it work, right?

I can run 7's on pavement. I train on steep trails (McDonald Forest) where all my starts are uphill for the first couple miles and elev gain is 2~3000'.  I don't need 'watered' ;-) yet commiserate with those that do.

A couple of the teams I 'dropped in on' finished high; 4th (Virginia Tech Uni, Masters, don't remember the flavor exactly) and Masters of the Universe (5th Masters, corp males). I have the bib numbers and details for those and the other 9.

I'm flexible and don't break.  I'm fun enough and have good habits.

I'm shooting you an email just now as you've posted it.

cheers
