'Run Like a Girl' looking for runners!
« on: May 18, 2019, 08:01:30 am »
Update on this team... we now have 8 confirmed runners and 2 maybes.    We need at least 2 more runners.  We have 2 vans and 1 volunteer and need 2 more volunteers.  see more below!  PS.  if you messaged me before they were supposed to come to my email box, but have not been delivered so I apologize for not getting back to you!  please respond to me with your name and email so I can send you a team invite.  Thanks! Andrea

Hello fellow runners!

We have some great people on our team and hope you'd like to join!  This is a mixed submasters team I have taken over from the former captain so am behind in recruiting runners.  At this point we have eight and need 4 more.

We range in age and running experience - so are not worried about how fast you are.  I have done Hood2Coast 5 times but that was years ago.  Another woman has not done it but is a runner and athlete.  At this point we do have 2 men signed on.

We have 2 drivers already.  We have 1 van and maybe a 2nd, but may need to rent one.  Checking on that.

Team costs are $1900/12 runners =  $158.33 per person plus a $20 late fee for late registration.  This may be taken care of by the previous team captain.  Plus possible van rental. Plus gas.

We will also need 3 volunteers so if you know of anyone that would be appreciated.

About the name  'Run Like a Girl'... One of our team members Mina Samuels wrote a book by that title and has agreed we could use that name.

I am happy to answer any questions and hope to hear from you!
Andrea

Hi, Let me start out by saying I am a very easy going, happy go lucky person that enjoys running.  You won’t find a better support team member. I have run HTC for 16yrs.  I'm looking to be on a fun team- Co-ed or all women.  I Prefer Van 1, would like leg 6 or 5 if possible, but will take whatever leg in Van 1 (except leg 1-ha. no thank you.)  I live in Yamhill, Oregon.  I sure would hate to miss HTC for my 17th year.

You're team sounds like a very kick back easy going van of runners and Hey I have a shirt that says "run like a girl" and a decal on my car with that saying LOL.  Maybe it was meant to be.

Hope to hear from you.

Julie

Hi Julie,

Thanks for responding!  I think we can work with your need to be in Van1 and not have leg 1.  It would be great to have such an experienced runner on board.  Fun coincidence that you have the shirt and bumper sticker! Please send me your email address and i will send you an invite from the team portal.

If you know of any volunteers please let me know.

Thank you!
Andrea

Hi, do you still need runners? I am a runner just for fun, not serious or fast, but I would love to join you all! I've never done HTC but have a few half marathons, 10ks etc under my belt. Thanks!

Hello! Do you still need a runner? I'm a 29 year old female who's done some marathons and one (soon to be two) overnight relays, and I'd love to do Hood to Coast!

I can run. I'm a 47 year old female with lots of H2C experience. Depending on the leg I will run between a 9:20 and 10 minute mile. My name is Andrea too. email me at aragon.andrea.r@gmail.com
